"I am currently studying MSci. degree in Medicinal Chemistry at University College London. Thanks to the MtL-URO program, I got the opportunity to spend two months in Prof. Bastiaens' group at Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund, working on a project that combined biochemistry and microfluidics. The environment in Prof. Bastiaens' lab was extremely stimulating and I have learnt many important techniques. Both my supervisors were very friendly and always ready to answer any of my questions. Simultaneously, discussions with different Ph.D. students and postdocs in the lab gave me valuable insight into academic life and I have received several pieces of advice and tips regarding my future Ph.D. applications. Moreover, I have to point out the great organisation and communication with the MtL-URO team. All in all, I feel that I am extremely lucky that I got the chance to participate in this program and I would encourage everyone to apply!"
